SKILLED through our Technical & Professional business is the leading supplier of highly skilled talent to a real-time media trading company. So far, SKILLED has placed a number of key appointments such as: Key Account Directors, Account Managers and Real Time Media sales traders.

The Challenge

In May 2012, our client was successful in securing external investment for a major project. SKILLED was engaged to provide a number of initial stakeholder level positions including Chief Data Scientist and Chief Financial Officer.

Following this success, SKILLED formed a partnership with our Client to recruit for a number of new roles during a period of rapid expansion, including highly mathematically- and statistically-focused Data Scientists who required a PhD to be deemed suitable.

The Solution

Considered as a valued partner and sole supplier during their expansion project, SKILLED appointed an Account Manager to deal directly with the CEO and the Asset Managers to ensure all priority future hires were successfully secured in the demanding timeframes provided.

As Real Time Media Trading technology is technically unique, it was imperative for SKILLED to attract the very best applicants from a very small talent pool.

The majority of sourcing was done on a search and select basis with proactive direct recruitment, using “head hunting” techniques by targeting candidates in the international market place with the exact skills and experience required.

Additional avenues used to source candidates included Seek, Link Me, LinkedIn, candidate referrals, internal networking and SKILLED’s vast database.

SKILLED also worked closely together with our client to create a unique technical testing process aligned with the requirements of the each individual role.

SKILLED took responsibility for effectively conducting the first round interview phase after which an accurate and refined shortlist of technically capable candidates was presented with details of their technical test scores as well as their respective backgrounds.

SKILLED’s specialist Business Services and ICT teams were able to combine a number of specialist recruitment techniques coupled with an in-depth understanding of our client’s current business and their future vision
