Machine operators for offshore Oil & Gas
SKILLED supplied our Client with a stable team of machine operators to conduct earthworks off the coast of WA. The 12 month project involved the dredging and distribution of spoil on the beach in order to allow civil works to take place.
The work is part of the biggest oil and gas project in Australia’s history. Every contractor operating on the project must have their qualifications and experience audited by a third party organisation engaged by the owner and operator of the project reflecting the highest possible standards for work associated with the project.
SKILLED’s national sourcing capability was drawn on to locate specialist operators, whose skill sets were largely being utilised on mine sites around Australia. We relied exclusively on our extensive national database and successfully sourced applicants from both Western Australia and Queensland. We also conducted flex-screening on each applicant prior to submitting the applicant’s resume to ERMS, the industry Electronic Resource Management System. ERMS is a system that verifies the validity of employee qualifications and work history. The specific requirements for each applicant were dictated by ERMS and often required multiple references and extensive background work histories to be provided for each.
Due to the complex nature of the work environment, SKILLED provided a combination of electronic forums, face-to-face meetings and safety site inspections to ensure the safety of its employees whilst on land and in the vessel.
SKILLED was successful in placing 14 specialist operators over the project term, each reporting into the site superintendent.
All operators successfully completed works on the project and our Client was impressed with SKILLED are ability to source quality operators and manage their travel to and from the work site. SKILLED was subsequently re-engaged by the client to work on additional projects throughout Australia.
