SKILLED has provided technical professionals to one of the world’s largest oil and gas companies for over ten years. We deliver permanent and contract recruitment services to 11 sites throughout Australia, encompassing both onshore and offshore activities.
SKILLED was engaged to provide employees and contractors with a broad range of skills, qualifications and expertise. From Engineers (Mechanical and Process) to OFS Fire and Safety Co-ordinators, Planners / Schedulers, Field Managed Modifications Co-ordinators, Offshore Platform Supervisors and Maintenance Process Consultants.
SKILLED attends quarterly and annual performance reviews while keeping in very close contact with client representatives throughout the year. For contractors, we provide face to face safety talks at least every six months, while offshore contractors keep in contact via email and phone.
We also manage the competencies that are required of contractors to be on site, which vary according to their specific role, but may include Height Safety Awareness, Asbestos Handling, Manual Handling, Sea Survival Training or Heloise training.
When SKILLED employee competencies are due for renewal, we manage this through accredited training providers.
In 2011, SKILLED Group employees and contractors delivered in excess of 100,000 hours of services to our client’s upstream and downstream operations, across eleven sites nationally. We also continue to supply apprentices to additional sites, as we have done successfully for a number of years.
Contractor retention by SKILLED Group was consistently high throughout 2010 and 2011 with an average of 98%. This achievement reflects our rigorous recruitment process and our ongoing focus on improved contractor communication, engagement and performance management.
By the end of 2012, SKILLED had more than 50 contractors on site – with a strong contingent based in Victoria and South Australia.
